1. Same battery, lower price.
82 kWh gross – identical to the ID. Buzz Pro. But from €49,990 instead of €61,077.

2. More space, more versatility.
1,410 mm interior height, real seat rails, up to 9.3 m³ of load volume.

3. Camping-ready.
Pop-up roof, kitchen modules, bed solutions – all available from stock for the T5/T6.

4. Lighter than the ID. Buzz.

5. Up to 250 kW power.
Twice as much as the Freestyle. Tesla Model 3 motor – proven millions of times over.

What the ID. Buzz does better

We are honest: slicker software, more modern assistance systems, a 5-year new-vehicle warranty, retro design. But: is that enough for 11.000 € Aufpreis for the same battery? Or €13,000 less battery on the entry model?

Häufig gestellte Fragen

Is the battery really the same as in the ID. Buzz?

Yes. We install the same 82 kWh (gross) MEB battery pack. Same cells, same chemistry, same usable energy content (~79 kWh net).

How much does a drivable T5 as a donor vehicle cost?

A T5 Transporter in roadworthy condition with TÜV can be found on mobile.de from around €10,000 (as of 03/2026). Panel vans from ~€6,500, Multivan from ~€11,000.

Does the conversion get TÜV approval?

Yes. Our kits are installed with TÜV support and designed for road approval.

Is the towing capacity of my T5/T6 retained after the conversion?

Yes, the factory-registered towing capacity of your donor vehicle is fully retained with the ESDI conversion. Frame, rear axle and trailer coupling are not modified – depending on the T5/T6 model and engine, up to 2,500 kg braked remains registerable. For comparison: the ID. Buzz Freestyle/Pro are limited to 1,200 kg.

How realistic are the 465 km range?

The 465 km are physics-based calculated and calibrated against official VW WLTP data. Not an official WLTP value. In reality we reckon on 300–360 km – comparable to the ID. Buzz Pro in practice.

What about warranty?

There is a warranty on the ESDI EV kit. The MEB battery has high reliability. The donor vehicle is used – but €11,000–25,000 cheaper than the VW equivalent.

All prices incl. VAT. ID. Buzz prices: VW configurator, as of 03/2026. e-Transporter prices: VW Commercial Vehicles configurator, as of 01/2026. Used prices: mobile.de. ESDI ranges are physics-based calculated, not WLTP-certified.
