ESDI EV T2 electric conversion kit
Unser T2 electric conversion kit combines a powerful electric drive with a generous high-voltage battery and integrates into the existing vehicle structure.
Based on our TÜV-compliant concept, you receive all components you need for a safe and professional conversion – including documentation and support.
Process – this is how your T2 becomes electric
Check vehicle & select kit – We clarify with you which performance and battery package suits your intended use.
Installation at ESDI or a partner workshop – The pre-assembled system is installed, connected and commissioned.
TÜV inspection & handover – We accompany the individual approval inspection under §21 StVZO and the registration entry in the vehicle documents, then you take delivery of your electric T2.

Power
Die kW- und PS-Angaben sind die Maximalleistung der Antriebseinheit. Eingetragen wird, was die Peripherie Ihres Fahrzeugs hergibt – Bremse und Fahrwerk geben den Rahmen vor, die Leistung wird darauf begrenzt.
Sie müssen also nichts aufrüsten, nur weil in der Tabelle eine große Zahl steht. Sie bekommen eine Einheit, die mehr könnte, als bei Ihnen freigegeben wird.
Klimaanlage
Ist in Ihrem Fahrzeug eine Klimaanlage verbaut, bleibt sie nutzbar. Der Serienkompressor hängt am Riemen des Verbrenners und fällt mit ihm weg – wir setzen einen HV-Kompressor ein, der die Anlage weiterbetreibt und zugleich die Batterie kühlt.
Ist keine verbaut, entsteht durch den Umbau auch keine – nachrüsten können wir sie nicht. Das gilt in jeder Stufe gleich.
Ausbau des Verbrenners
Ihr Fahrzeug kommt leer zu uns, der Antriebsstrang ist dann bereits raus. Wir elektrifizieren, wir entkernen nicht.
Das übernimmt unser Partner CGM – Classic German Motors gegen Aufpreis, und CGM kann mehr: Restauration, Strahlen, Unterbodenaufbereitung und -konservierung, frische Bremsen und Achsteile. Ihre ausgebauten Altteile vermarktet CGM auf Wunsch in Kommission.
TÜV
Die Begleitung zum TÜV und die Vorführung des Fahrzeugs übernehmen wir – das ist Teil unserer Leistung.
Die Gebühren für Gutachten und Einzelabnahme stellen wir unverändert durch. Die Prüfung wird immer auf den Fahrzeughalter ausgestellt, Sie zahlen sie direkt.

Frequently asked questions about the VW T2 electric conversion
Does the kit fit in every T2?
Yes – our kit is designed for all VW T2 (Type 2, 1967–1979), including Bulli, Kombi, flatbed and Westfalia camper. The rear installation position makes optimal use of the existing engine compartment.
How much power does the T2 get?
PURE up to 100 kW (136 hp), VOYAGER up to 220 kW (300 hp). Compared to the original 50 hp boxer, that is an enormous difference – especially when pulling away on a hill and when overtaking on country roads.
How long does the installation take?
We will give you a binding date and duration after inspecting your vehicle. Currently around three to four months' lead time from receipt of payment, after which the conversion itself takes around three months at our workshop.
What range does the T2 have?
200 km (PURE, 48 kWh) to 300 km (VOYAGER, 65 kWh) depending on the battery package and driving style.
What does the T2 electric conversion cost?
The kit starts at 29,990 €. Installed turnkey: 34,990–59,990 € depending on the stage (kit price plus 5,000 € installation, without base vehicle). There is also an intermediate stage with 53 kWh: 34,990 € kit, 39,990 € turnkey.
Do you handle the TÜV approval?
We take care of accompanying the TÜV inspection and presenting the vehicle – that is part of our service. We pass on the fees for the expert report and individual approval inspection unchanged; the inspection is always issued to the registered vehicle owner.
