Installation at ESDI or a partner workshop – The pre-assembled system is installed, connected and commissioned.
TÜV approval & registration – The kit is designed so that the individual approval under § 21 StVZO is possible.

What is included in the price – and what is not

Applies to all tiers.

Power

The kW and hp figures are the maximum output of the drive unit. What gets registered is what your vehicle's peripherals allow – brakes and suspension set the limits, and the output is limited accordingly.

So you do not need to upgrade anything, just because a big number appears in the table. You get a unit that could do more than what gets approved for your vehicle.

Air conditioning

The Classic Mini never came with air conditioning from the factory – and we do not fit one as part of the conversion. If one was retrofitted, it stays usable. The factory compressor hangs off the combustion engine's belt and disappears along with it – we fit an HV compressor that keeps it running. The drive unit and onboard charger are liquid-cooled; the battery pack is not cooled.

If none is fitted, the conversion does not create one either – we cannot retrofit it. That applies equally at every tier.

Removal of the combustion engine

Your vehicle arrives leer to us, with the powertrain already removed. We electrify, we do not strip out.

That is handled by our partner CGM – Classic German Motors for an extra charge, and CGM can do more: restoration, blasting, underbody preparation and preservation, fresh brakes and axle parts. On request, CGM can also market your removed old parts on consignment.

TÜV

The accompaniment to the TÜV and the presentation of the vehicle are handled by us – that is part of our service.

The fees for the expert report and individual approval are passed on unchanged. The inspection is always issued to the vehicle owner, and you pay it directly.

Honestly put into perspective: The Cooper SE has the bigger battery and drives further — but it weighs 780 kg more. The ESDI Classic Mini gets up to 350 km out of 40 kWh because it stays around 900 kg. Per kilowatt-hour it therefore goes further than the new car — and with 300 hp in a 900 kg car it plays in a different league in terms of driving dynamics.

Why the kit is at Porsche level: Approval is extremely complex for this vehicle, and the front axle design is demanding in both engineering and manufacturing. This integration is hard to match – that is what is in the price, not the sheer power.
