info Why the ID.4 is more thermally demanding

The ID.4 is a compact SUV with a higher kerb weight than the ID.3. The battery bears more load, especially on the GTX with all-wheel drive. In summer and during fast charging, higher temperatures arise than with the flat ID.3 pack.

How do I recognise that my ID.4 has a module problem?

Symptoms are range loss, charging throttling, a high-voltage warning light or the error message "high-voltage system". A professional diagnosis costs nothing – contact us for an initial assessment.

Can I still drive with a defective module?

Limited, yes. The BMS system blocks defective modules or throttles the power. Continued operation with a defective module can lead to battery damage. A quick repair is recommended.

How long does a module replacement on the ID.4 take?

One module: 2–3 working days. Two modules: 3–4 working days. Including diagnosis, calibration and test drive. We agree the exact timing with you.

Is the ID.4 more susceptible than the ID.3?

Not more susceptible, but more demanding. The higher weight and the SUV shape lead to higher thermal loads. Thermal-management faults are more common on the ID.4 than on the ID.3.

GTX battery: more expensive than the Pure battery?

The GTX (77 kWh) has more modules (12 instead of 8), but does not automatically require higher repair costs per module. We calculate according to effort and module condition.
