Our T1 electric conversion kit combines a powerful electric drive with a generous high-voltage battery and integrates into the existing vehicle structure.
Based on our TÜV-compliant concept, you receive all the components you need for a safe and professional conversion – including documentation and support.

Installation at ESDI or a partner workshop – The pre-assembled system is installed, connected and commissioned.
TÜV inspection & handover – With our documentation the technical inspection is no problem; afterwards you take over your electric T1.

Power
Die kW- und PS-Angaben sind die Maximalleistung der Antriebseinheit. Eingetragen wird, was die Peripherie deines Fahrzeugs hergibt – Bremse und Fahrwerk geben den Rahmen vor, die Leistung wird darauf begrenzt.
Du musst also nichts aufrüsten, nur weil in der Tabelle eine große Zahl steht. Du bekommst eine Einheit, die mehr könnte, als bei dir freigegeben wird.
Klimaanlage
Der T1 kam ab Werk nie mit Klimaanlage – und wir bauen im Zuge des Umbaus keine ein. Wurde nachträglich eine verbaut, bleibt sie nutzbar. Der Serienkompressor hängt am Riemen des Verbrenners und fällt mit ihm weg – wir setzen einen HV-Kompressor ein, der die Anlage weiterbetreibt und zugleich die Batterie kühlt.
Ist keine verbaut, entsteht durch den Umbau auch keine – nachrüsten können wir sie nicht. Das gilt in jeder Stufe gleich.
Ausbau des Verbrenners
Dein Fahrzeug kommt leer zu uns, der Antriebsstrang ist dann bereits raus. Wir elektrifizieren, wir entkernen nicht.
Das übernimmt unser Partner CGM – Classic German Motors gegen Aufpreis, und CGM kann mehr: Restauration, Strahlen, Unterbodenaufbereitung und -konservierung, frische Bremsen und Achsteile. Deine ausgebauten Altteile vermarktet CGM auf Wunsch in Kommission.
TÜV
Die Begleitung zum TÜV und die Vorführung des Fahrzeugs übernehmen wir – das ist Teil unserer Leistung.
Die Gebühren für Gutachten und Einzelabnahme stellen wir unverändert durch. Die Prüfung wird immer auf den Fahrzeughalter ausgestellt, du zahlst sie direkt.

Frequently asked questions about the VW T1 electric conversion
Which T1 models are compatible?
Our kit is designed for the VW T1 (Type 2, 1950–1967) – Bulli, Samba, flatbed and double cab. The basic structure fits universally; adaptations for early split-window models are available on request.
How much power does the T1 have afterwards?
Our standard kit delivers 136 hp and 300 Nm of torque. That is more than three times the original 34 hp engine. This makes the T1 drive completely differently – powerful acceleration, quiet gliding, no shifting.
How long does the installation take?
Approx. 4–6 working days. The T1 has more space in the rear than later models, which makes the installation easier. All components are delivered pre-assembled.
What range is possible?
Mit dem ca. 55-kWh-Paket (PURE) bis zu 200 km, mit dem 82-kWh-Paket (VOYAGER) bis zu 350 km. Der T1 ist aerodynamisch nicht optimal, verbraucht aber dank des niedrigen Gewichts weniger als erwartet.
Is the conversion reversible?
Yes, completely. No body cuts, no permanent changes. The original engine can be reinstalled at any time.
What does the T1 electric conversion cost?
The kit starts at 29,990 €. Installed turnkey, the conversion costs 34,990–69,990 € depending on the stage (kit price plus 5,000 € installation, without base vehicle). Given the increase in value of T1 Bullis in recent years, an electric conversion is also an investment in the vehicle future viability.
