The MEB platform from Volkswagen is modular in design. In many cases only one of up to 12 modules is defective. A complete replacement of the entire battery pack is then economically and ecologically unjustifiable.

VW itself communicates that high-voltage batteries of the ID. family do not always have to be completely replaced. Components, modules and control units can be specifically repaired or replaced depending on the case.

The battery warranty on VW ID models is usually 8 Jahre bzw. 160.000 km with a guaranteed minimum capacity of 70%. We check whether warranty claims against the manufacturer might exist.

Especially for vehicles outside the manufacturer warranty we offer an economical alternative: instead of a complete replacement, we determine whether a modular repair is technically sensible and more cost-effective.

Our cost structure is transparent. The actual costs depend on the battery variant, the damage pattern, the number of affected modules and parts availability. After the diagnosis you receive a detailed cost estimate – before we begin work.

After the vehicle arrives and the diagnosis is approved, the physical module replacement including final inspection and documentation usually takes 3 to 5 working days. The total duration depends on spare-parts availability and the specific damage pattern.

Interventions by third-party providers can affect the manufacturer warranty on the battery system. We inform you individually in advance about possible effects and offer our own warranty on all work carried out and components installed.

The 93P7 campaign concerns certain VW ID.3 and ID.4 vehicles and addresses known battery problems. If your vehicle is affected, we check as part of our diagnosis whether the problems are related to it and which options are available to you.
Can every MEB battery problem be solved by a module replacement? expand_more
No. Not every defect can be remedied by a module replacement. In some cases other components are affected (control unit, cooling, wiring) or the overall condition of the battery economically speaks against a repair. We communicate honestly when a repair does not make sense.
Do you use original spare parts? expand_more
We rely on tested OEM quality: either certified new parts or Grade-A replacement modules with documented and tested remaining capacity. Every installed module is individually tested and logged before installation.
What do I need to have ready for the enquiry? expand_more
Ideally you provide: vehicle model and year of manufacture, battery size (kWh), current mileage, a description of the symptoms and – if available – a fault-memory readout or workshop report. The more information we receive, the more precise our initial assessment.
How does my vehicle get to ESDI EV? expand_more
After the remote preliminary check and a positive initial assessment, we arrange an appointment. You can deliver your vehicle yourself or we organise a transport solution by arrangement. We clarify the details individually.
Do I receive documentation after the repair? expand_more
Yes. You receive a comprehensive repair certificate with documentation of all measures, test results, installed components and capacity values. These documents are also valuable for any resales or insurance questions.
What happens if a repair is not economical? expand_more
Transparency is important to us. Should our diagnosis reveal that a repair is not economically or technically sensible, we tell you openly and advise you on alternative options. In this case you only pay the diagnosis costs.
