Compared to our basic VW Beetle conversion, this project is a true milestone in the field of electric conversion. Here we have integrated a powerful Tesla drive into the iconic VW Beetle Cabriolet.

To achieve this, we removed the boxer engine to make room for a completely rebuilt drive unit from a Tesla Model S. At every step of the conversion, it was particularly important to us not to cut, drill or weld any parts of the vehicle body.
Our goal was to preserve the VW Beetle 1303 Cabriolet electric conversion in its originality and aesthetics, while simultaneously ensuring remarkable electric performance and range. The result is a perfect symbiosis of nostalgic design and state-of-the-art electric mobility, offering you a unique driving experience.

The VW Beetle 1303 Cabriolet is powered by a compact Tesla rear drive unit with an impressive maximum output of 220 kW (299 hp). BATTERY
A total of 36 kWh of battery capacity was installed in the VW Beetle 1303 Cabriolet. To ensure optimal weight distribution and maximum space utilization, the battery pack was split into two separate units. Pack 1 is located in the 'trunk' on the front axle, while battery pack 2 was placed behind the rear seat. This intelligent arrangement enables a nearly even weight distribution of approximately 50/50, resulting in balanced vehicle dynamics. The vehicle drives similarly to a new car.
To enable CCS fast charging and maximize charging efficiency, battery temperature management was implemented. This maintains optimal operating temperatures for the battery, resulting in efficient and fast charging. You can thus conveniently and quickly use the CCS fast charging network and continue your journeys without long charging times.
With the intelligent distribution of the battery packs, optimal weight distribution and implemented battery temperature management, the electrified VW Beetle 1303 Cabriolet offers not only environmentally friendly mobility, but also improved driving performance and charging efficiency. INSTRUMENTS
In the course of the electric conversion, the fuel gauge in the VW Beetle 1303 Cabriolet was also repurposed. Instead of the conventional fuel gauge, a new display was developed that shows you the remaining battery capacity at a glance. This way, you always know how far you can still drive and can plan your journeys accordingly.
Furthermore, we installed our Touch Encoder in the Beetle 1303 Cabriolet in place of the gear knob. This innovative encoder offers state-of-the-art controls and replaces the conventional gear knob. Integrated in a leather-covered holder, the Touch Encoder blends harmoniously into the interior and complements the overall appearance of the vehicle naturally.
With the repurposed fuel gauge and the Touch Encoder, the electrified Beetle 1303 Cabriolet offers not only modern and intuitive controls, but also seamless integration into the interior.
