Three battery sizes, eight variants, prices from just under 50,000 to over 75,000 €. The battery is the most expensive single component of an electric car – and in the ID. Buzz the decisive variable between usable and everyday-capable.
The three battery sizes at a glance
59 kWh – the entry level (Freestyle)
The smallest battery is in the Freestyle from 49,998 €. It uses the 125 kW motor and delivers 332 km WLTP. Real: 200–280 km. For a 2.4-tonne vehicle, 59 kWh is tight.
79 kWh – the sweet spot (Pro, GTX short wheelbase)
The medium battery is in the Pro (from 61,077 €) and GTX with a short wheelbase. With a 210 kW drive the Pro reaches 459 km WLTP. That is the sweet spot in the portfolio – but the price is not a sweet spot.
86 kWh – the maximum (Pro/GTX long wheelbase)
The largest battery is only available with a long wheelbase: Pro LWB from 62,903 €, GTX LWB from ~75,065 €. Range: up to 487 km WLTP. The surcharge of only 1,826 € compared to the Pro KR is the best deal in the Buzz portfolio.

| 79 → 86 kWh (Pro KR → Pro LWB) | 1.826 € | +7 kWh | 261 €/kWh |
