TÜV individual approval for the Bulli
Every electric conversion in Germany requires a TÜV individual approval under §19 and §21 StVZO. The pure approval fee is 500 to 2,000 euros (TUeV/DEKRA). Good news for Bulli owners: since the T1 and T2 had their first registration well before 17 June 2003, the expensive EMC test, which otherwise costs 5,000 to 8,000 euros, is usually omitted.
